Gay Marriage Weddings

Gay Marriage Weddings

History was made in New Zealand on 17 April 2013 as the bill was passed to (finally) legalize same-sex marriages!  So as of 19 August 2013, gay marriage ceremonies can take place here in New Zealand and all same-sex couples can experience the same legal rights as everyone else.

I have always been a strong believer in equality for EVERYONE, and so it goes without saying I have been a massive supporter for marriage equality for same-sex couples. As a professional wedding celebrant, I believe every single person should have the right to be married to the person they love, and this should not be dependent on their sexual orientation.

Designing gay marriage ceremonies

When we meet for the first time I provide you with a thorough overview of my wedding celebrant process. Using that we will plan your wedding ceremony and discuss and agree on a timeline for the planning stage. Unsurprisingly the process I use to create gay marriage ceremonies is exactly the same as for straight wedding ceremonies. Working in consultation with you both, I will find out what your plans, dreams, and ideas are for the big day. From there I design a personalised wedding ceremony to incorporate you both; reflect your relationship and bond; your ideas and values; and all other relevant special elements in your lives.

What about religious gay marriage weddings?

As well as being a registered Auckland celebrant, I am an ordained Minister. Some members of the clergy (and Celebrants) will use religion as the reason to not conduct same-sex wedding ceremonies. My strong belief is that you and your partner have the right to choose a religious or non-religious ceremony – and it would be my privilege to perform this for you.

Would you like a wedding celebrant who will create the ceremony you have dreamed about, support you by taking the stress out of the planning, and be fun to work with? If you are planning your gay marriage please get in touch with me. Let’s go on the journey of creating your beautiful gay wedding ceremony together.
